Founder and CEO Hilary Gowins is a Chicago-based writer, content strategist and editor.
Her work has been published in The Hill, the Chicago Sun-Times, Crain’s Chicago Business, huffingtonpost.com, the Rockford Register-Star and more. She has appeared to discuss policy issues on WBBM CBS Chicago, WYCC PBS Chicago, Fox 32 Chicago and other outlets across the U.S.
Prior to launching Concision Media, Hilary was the vice president of communications for the Illinois Policy Institute. Before joining the Institute, Hilary was a reporter at the Northwest Herald, where she covered local government and wrote enterprise stories focusing on politics at the state level. During her time at the Northwest Herald, she was awarded an Illinois Press Association award for feature writing, and many of her stories were picked up by the Associated Press and featured in the Chicago Tribune.
Hilary earned her bachelor’s degree in English at Kenyon College and her master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
